South Roots performs traditional Western Cape welcome and honouring protocols to visiting dignitaries from around the world.

Protocol packages include airports, hotels, conferences

South Roots receives tourists visiting the Boland at Kibbutz El-Shammah in Roodewal. Tourists get to experience the culture of the Boland within the previously disadvantaged community of Roodewal. This is a Kibbutz El-Shammah / South Roots job creation initiative.

Tourists enjoy a traditional meal while they are entertained by performing artists. (Various packages available)

Volunteer Winelands South Africa


Volunteers from around the world get involved in the projects of Kibbutz El-Shammah. – Specifically those linked to South Roots. Volunteers can impart their skills to the community and serve in basic areas of need in the organization.

  • General Maintenance.
  • Preprimary and primary school

Registration: R1000 (Aprox $140)

Accommodation plus one main meal a day – R450 per week (Aprox $60)
